Due too the large amount go upcoming work over the next week or so, i am chosen to set myself a target of getting the bullet points completed on scribd that has been set too completed by friday. These require a lot of work and therefore i need too use my time wisely.
i also aim too get my photo done and uploaded for my school magazine and make a thorougha start on creating it.
Favourite magazine covers (over the last 12 months)
I like the look of this magazine cover due too the laid-back appeal that it conveys and how it connotes a rebelious attitude.
The use of taboo language and cigarettes could also appeal too a younger audience because it just seems more natural than airbrushed image covers.
I find with this magazine, that it just appears edgy yet still elegant. The use of the large bow covering one breast and her hand covering the other, the simplicity makes it not appear as raunchy as it could of been perceived as.
The bright yellow writing and strip don the right hand side with the dateline on, adds a more eye-catching element too the simple background main image.
With this cover, i find that the use of the full body glitter over the naked body connotes a unique and sensual appeal too the magazine but also fully covers her, making it more appropriate for a cover image.
The use of the bold, bronze and gold glitter makes the whole cover stand out against the white and black background and mastheads/coverlines and therefore fully connotes who the main person that the magazine is based on stand out the most.
With this 'Interview' magazine cover, the use of black and white portrays a formal yet simple appeal too the magazine and makes it look more professional.
The fact that the masthead is covered by the main image suggests that it is a well-known enough magazine too do so because everyone would already be able too guess what it is.
The use of just a black blazer and wet body and hair connotes a sexual yet still formal approach due too the blazer and the stature.
With these 3 'V' magazines, Lady Gaga wears very unique and interesting ensembles in order too make her stand out and express her individuality too the audience.
The us bright, plastic/metallic cloud on her body (top) and over her face (second) connotes that she is a large individual and is renowned for her costume choices and therefore is reflecting this on the cover.
Although she uses bright colours, she also uses darker more grunge colurs by using gold chains and black makeup over her face (third picture). By doing so, the gold makes an eye-catching contrast between the lack background- again, making her stand out and reflect both sides of her personality too the target market. The large, central, faded 'V' conveys a unique yet simple design in which is blends in with the main image, yet is enough to be readable.
With this issue of 'V', the main image of Kesha appears too look as if her face is coming through the faded 'V' design, making it appear more 3D and realistic.
The use of the background being her blonde hair adds a subtle and neutral feel too the cover and makes it all about her. Then, the contrast between the American flag face-paint on her makes her stand out completely. The fact that the flag is physically painted on her makes it stand out more too the audience due too it being intriguing for the target audience.
The fact that she is topless also adds a more provocative feel too it, yet due too it being more of a head shot, it isn't as seductive which makes it more suitable for all ages.

Some very strong female covers; I am already getting a good idea of your style ideas. Start thinking about your model; do you have someone you could use for your cover? They could be quirky and unique; make up, costume and lighting/photoshop effects may be key to your design also.
